Well, our sleep was less than wonderful last night. All night there was a grain depo making noise, and the trucks of course, and the grain conveyors. I picked that caravan park, so Dave let me know about it all night... haha! That park had a great open kitchen though, which was a bonus. We were in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil (Lazy people, I know) When I turned and saw an old Symphony piano off in the back ground, covered in dust. It was about 6.30am so I could have a go- but took a couple of snaps.
It must be cotton picking season here, because as soon as we pulled out of the noise-park there was picked cotton strewn on the side of the road.
Dave pulled off the road to pick me up some cotton... Aww!!
We also saw a young cotton plantation.... its the best example for The Beatles 'Sea of Green' quote that i've ever seen. So green, in a landscape that is just scrub and eucalyptus trees.
Also, we went passed (what we found out later) a Canola plantation. Verrrrrry yellow!
Dave introduced me to the concept of "waving territory" ... where you drive down a road and have to constantly wave at every passing vehical. Im not going to say its a waste of time, becase someone didn't wave back at Dave and he wasn't impressed to say the least. It makes for hilarious driver out-takes.
We're staying in Dubbo tonight, at a Big 4 caravan park. It has this pidly little spot for camper-trailers and the rest of the park is little one/two bedroom units. But they seem to be quiet and friendly so hopefully we'll get a better sleep tonight.
We're going to try and get as far as Tumut tomorrow.
